Job Summary:

The Manager, Events is responsible for the successful management, execution and tracking of corporately driven retail (BM & Digital) events for the portfolio of brands in the US. The role will closely support the Director of Events in the creation of event strategies, themes, animations & tools to drive sales, brand awareness and client experiences to meet individual brand business objectives. Post event quantitative and qualitative hindsight analysis exercises will inform future planning and activations.

Brand portfolio includes Shiseido, Clé de Peau Beauté and all brands currently within the US distribution of Shiseido Fragrances.

This position operates in a team-oriented environment and works closely with US Marketing, Global Brand Holders, Retailers, Forecasting, and Field Executives to drive alignment and execution of events.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Scope of events includes BM & Virtual events partnered with retailer and brand ecomm teams.  Scope can also include trade show style events hosted by retailers or sales meeting activations based on need.
  • Ideate and plan seasonal event animations in collaboration with Director, brand marketing teams and ecomm teams. Collaborate with Education on event talent as well as counter and spa service best practices to animate and engage with clients.
  • Ideation and creation of ROS documents outlining guidance and scripting for event talent
  • Support Director in the creation and procurement of event tools including the management of the CRF process, vendor relationships, production timelines, and shipment of event tools
  • Maintain accurate seasonal roster of events and recaps of performance.
  • Lead event performance analysis, ROI & qualitative analysis. Make recommendations for course correction as needed and future event strategies.
  • Control costs vs budget for event talent fees. Code and prepare event invoices.
  • Creation of event guides to ensure excellence in execution at the field sales level.  
  • Support all internal cross-functional groups (Creative, Marketing OPS, Forecasting, Planning, Sales Ops, Advertising and PR, Social Media, Education and E-Commerce) to ensure alignment and successful execution of programs.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Review monthly expenses, invoices and budgets to maintain accuracy
  • Ensure sales goals are achieved and excellence of customer experience is maintained
  • Organize and streamlines field accessed files, folders and recapping materials
  • Point-person for communication and recapping with Sell-Thru teams
  • Negotiate with vendors for ideal service and pricing on department sourced materials
  • Plan departmental and company related events that support Shiseido Americas
  • Execute necessary elements to complete projects as needed by VP of Sales & Education
  • Ability to host and moderate events as needed
  • Travel as needed

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • BS Degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Beauty Marketing or Event Planning.
  • Professional and effective communication skills
  • Expertise in written and verbal communication.
  • Attention to detail when managing various projects.
  • Expert skills in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of BOX & TEAMS platforms for file sharing  
  • Strong planning, administration, and organizational skills
  • Strong partnership skills and ability to develop a team rapport.
  • Agility, initiative, and flexibility to manage several projects at any given time and respond to business needs.
  • Flexibility related to schedule and hours of work.
  • PC Software knowledge, Microsoft Office skills, Outlook, Publishers, Excel, SAP, and Power
