Job Summary:

Responsible for coordinating launch and development activities for a category within a Luxury Cosmetics brand by developing and executing launch projects to deliver all programs on time in full (OTIF). Collaborates with all the Operations cross-functional team members to ensure that all necessary learning, qualification and execution activities of new products are completed in support of a successful launch. A Senior Planner is expected to manage a portfolio of projects, which may vary between new product launches & supply chain design changes depending on the business needs. This individual must also collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure the brand conception is achieved.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the new product development process for all products for a designated category brand from concept generation to execution, ensuring timing, quantity and KPI targets are achieved
  • Coordinate all project meetings and drive the seamless integration between all Operational, R&D, Creative, Marketing & Sales processes and functions involved in developing and launching new products
  • Establish and maintain an 18-month new product development calendar in conjunction with the brand and proactively drive the Kick-off briefing process using a range of standard timeline templates that vary in duration according to product complexity
  • Consistently challenge and reduce the development lead-times by ensuring appropriate balanced risks are built into the original time plans, whilst ensuring all COGs, quality and service requirements are achieved/exceeded
  • Responsible for the cost process for all launches within designated category. Presenting options to the brand that meet: their cost target, aesthetic target and offer a sustainable option to achieve Shiseido goals.
  • Be an independent contributor to the launch process and the liaison between all Operations teams and the brands. Inclusive of timely escalation of launch challenges on either side to the correct parties to mitigate risks to the business.
  • Gate keeper for brand quality of both formula and packaging. Ensuring that all product launches pass the Shiseido corporate quality tests.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Work well with cross-functional teams and take a leadership role within the team.
  • Effective interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Knowledge of MS Project or other project management-related software, MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • 3 to 5 years project management experience
  • Understanding of new product development processes & stage gate approach
  • Exposure to production environment & interaction of packaging, process, manufacturing
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
