JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Facilities, oversees the efficient, safe, and sustainable operation of a cosmetics manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with GMP, ISO14001, and all regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in facility systems and processes. The position emphasizes proactive maintenance, resource optimization, and alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- You will ensure the continuous operation of all building systems to meet GMP quality standards, ISO14001, ISO45001, environmental requirements, and local, state, and federal regulations while also supporting the needs of the business.
- You will develop and implement a robust preventative maintenance program for critical systems (HVAC, DI water, dust collectors, vacuum pumps, generators, life safety equipment).
- You will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize lifecycle costs.
- You will monitor and report energy and water consumption metrics.
- You will identify and execute projects that reduce environmental impact and support corporate sustainability objectives.
- You will lead and develop a cohesive team of in-house technicians while managing external contractors for services such as security, janitorial, landscaping, pest control, and specialized maintenance.
- You will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- You will oversee the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure timely completion and documentation of work orders.
- You will maintain accurate asset tagging and auditing processes.
- You will prepare and manage facility budgets, track variances, and implement cost-control measures.
- You will maintain a safe work environment through rigorous adherence to EHS standards and proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- You will work cross-functionally will all site departments such as Manufacturing, Production, Quality, R&D, Finance, Planning, etc.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, Business Management, or equivalent.
- You have 8+ years of experience in facilities management within a manufacturing environment, preferably cosmetics or related industries.
- You have proven expertise in preventative maintenance programs, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- You have strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams and external contractors.
- You have excellent knowledge of GMP, ISO14001, ISO45001, EHS regulations, and compliance requirements.
- You are a strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You are proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) and other facility management technologies.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
- You have exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- You have strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, building equipment, and ancillary equipment
- You have excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- You have one of the following certifications: Lean Six Sigma Belt, PMP, Wastewater N license and Boiler Black Seal LP (preferred)
