Project Leader, New Product Commercialization (Group)

Job Summary:

Manage the creation and timely execution of an achievable, efficient production schedule for a group of Contract Manufacturers (domestic and International) for new product launch. Work with NPD team to define the supply plan and coordinate site activities to maintain timelines from development, line trials, and procurement activities through launch execution. Collaborate with cross-functional groups including the contract manufacturing site, packaging engineering, product development, S&OP, procurement, quality, marketing, regulatory, and others. Create and maintain purchase orders and other transactions within JD Edwards.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

·The NPC Planner will contribute in development of a project timeline and host recurring meetings with CM sites to track progress in achieving project milestones within the launch.

·Work with procurement, suppliers and the CMs to ensure that component and production lead times are challenged and reduced to the lowest possible level in keeping with agreed distribution strategies.

·Interface with the CMs to ensure the implementation and use of the most efficient, cost-effective manufacturing strategies by product type.

·Assist with Item master set up by validating branch plant, item code, and supplier. Vet customer orders to ensure they meet MOQ, lead times, and realistic delivery dates.

·Work independently on leading project team, assessing and mitigating risks, problem solving and ensuring project stays within scope and in time. This includes validating project timelines during brief and calling out risks prior to execution.

·Create and maintain Purchase Orders in JDE for all items related to launch including FG, component, tooling/perp charges, liability charges, etc. Keep JDE system up-to-date with the most accurate order completion dates.

·Work with IT, AP, and transportation to move cargo, receive, and resolve system issues that prevent systematic PO completion.

Financial Accountability

·Keep track of all liabilities related to projects. Follow up to obtain credits from CM/supplier as needed.

Qualifications & Competencies:

·4 year academic degree in relevant field or related job experience

·Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a project management or new product introduction role ideally in a manufacturing or supplier environment in consumer goods industry.

·Competent user of computerized IT systems – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other associated scheduling, forecasting software packages

·ASCP and JDE experience a plus.
