Senior Manager, Global Influencer Engagement (NARS)

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Global Influencer Engagement oversees the development and implementation of all Influencer (earned and paid) strategies and earned communications programs to support programs and initiatives aligned with NARS’ business initiatives, image goals and product launches for all 35+ markets worldwide.


This role is a strategic advocate for the brand and will work closely with key business players to create and execute an innovative and unique global influencer approach.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and drive a cohesive global paid and earned social influencer and communications strategy to support all key launches/initiatives and amplifies brand messages and storytelling worldwide
  • Serve as local market day-to-day contact for all local influencer activations earned and paid, contracts and strategy development
  • Create global brand codes and guidelines for local market influencer programs
  • Identify new and emerging social influencers (US and internationally) 
  • Work in partnership with Media and Social Content points to identify, build and execute 360 programs that will help increase the brand’s online visibility across the industry
  • Oversee all influencer partnerships, including budget management, contract negotiations, agent relationships, briefs and integration into media, marketing programs and content 
  • Partner with key cross-functional teams including Global Marketing, US Marketing, Creative, E-Commerce, Digital and 35+ local Communications Managers in EMEA, APAC and Americas to develop and enact consumer driven influencer strategies and activations
  • Provide counsel and support to international markets around local influencer activity/partnerships to ensure global consistency
  • Oversee global monitoring KPI process, launch recaps and best practice resource center. Utilize search and social insight tools to measure influencer efforts in accordance to KPIs and campaign objectives; Leverage data and benchmarks to provide strategic recommendations 
  • Lead partnership with internal Shiseido Group team members (MCOE, Shiseido Brands) on strategic innovation initiatives
  • Oversee Global Influencer Budget

Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • BS/BA required; Communications degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of influencer marketing and communications experience; beauty and fashion industry experience preferred
  • MUST have solid relationships with digital influencers, beauty vloggers and bloggers, fashion tastemakers, digital editors, key media players and channel-specific social influencers within beauty, fashion, and lifestyle
  • Interest or experience with international/global influencers a plus
  • Must have a good handle on current trending influencers and pop culture
  • Experience managing and negotiating with external partners (Agents, talent, vendors) 
  • Track record of building brand awareness with an eye for message, content, and stories
  • Well-versed in the dynamic digital landscape
  • Adept in creative problem-solving, extremely resourceful, and proactive
  • Positive attitude and demonstrates a high level of maturity and presence
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills - a self-described “people-person,” comfortable speaking with all levels of an organization; Ability to delegate efficiently and maintain executive presence
  • Strong planning, project management, and organizational skills to be proactive to the ever-changing needs of social and digital media
  • Significant experience and a proven track record of executing digital communication strategies and tracking ROI analysis as a result
  • Experience working within a global scope
