Senior Manager, Digital Media (NARS)

A strategic and analytical marketer who thrives in a rapidly changing environment, is curious and has the vision to develop both short and long-term multi-channel media strategy that revolutionizes how NARS goes to market and engages consumers. These strategies will be expected to inspire discovery, engagement, conversion and loyalty among new, existing, prospective and lapsed consumers across their preferred shopping channels. Responsibility and accountability for media strategy, planning, budgeting and activation in partnership with the media agency. Drives a test and learn mentality.

The Senior Manager, Digital Media is responsible for hands on development, management, execution and optimization of integrated media campaigns including retailer coop. This individual will develop an intimate understanding of the NARS consumer, business priorities and competitive landscape, so that all initiatives are consumer-centric and efficient.  Through customized targeting strategies, engage consumers with a mix of paid digital, OOH, social, search, experiential and emerging media to meet NARS strategic business and sales goals. This individual will collaborate closely with multiple teams to deliver integrated campaigns: Brand Marketing, Creative, Global Marketing, Consumer Engagement (Social and PR), E-commerce and CRM ++Channel Marketing (for coop). They will lead the relationship with the media agency and be accountable for the agency’s results. This position will also be a member of SAC Media Community as a representative for NARS with the Regional Digital Marketing & Media team.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with brand, channel marketing, e-commerce and PR/Social to deliver fully integrated media campaigns
  • Develop strategic media briefs that align to brand goals
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of Media agency, ensuring agency meets business needs and established goals.
  • Manages integrated media budget for all US media spend
  • Main contact for all digital co-op related opportunities and oversees strategy and execution for key retailers (Sephora, Ulta, and Nordstrom)
  • Day-to-day budget management and tracking. Thorough understanding of brand and financial goals.
  • Responsible for ongoing media optimization and analysis in partnership with the agency
  • Lead agency scorecard process for the brand
  • Collaborate with digital creative agencies and internal creative team to ensure all creative requests are clear, concise providing guidance along with agency to ensure assets are audience and platform relevant. Track teams to ensure creative assets are routed for review and feedback in a timely manner and finalized on time and according to spec
  • Key Liaison with SAC Corporate Media Team, attending monthly media meetings and social media meetings with other brands. Also complete any ad-hoc work requested by team
  • Collaborate with social team on content calendar for efficiencies, drive priorities
  • Monitor media marketplace and beauty/industry competitors to identify trends, testing opportunities, best practices and growth opportunities for NARS. Regularly, share best practice competitive examples across key and emerging platforms.
  • Monitor and report on consumer media consumption habits and trends to drive effectiveness
  • Partner with US E-Comm team to ensure best practice to drive qualified traffic with bottom funnel executions and assist in asset development to ensure communication is consistent cross funnel.
  • Partner with CRM Team (Accenture & Digital Shared Services) to optimize buys against key target demographics full funnel and strategize on CRM execution
  • Partner with DSS (digital shared services) to incorporate innovation and emerging media and marketing technology trends into media activation
  • Present all campaign plans, optimizations and final results across different business forums and meetings, including, but not limited to, cross-functional team meetings, Senior Management Meetings, Transversal Meetings, Retailer presentations, Field briefing meetings
  • Manage and traffic assets and/or content changes through necessary approval channels – ensuring accuracy, on-time release

Financial Accountability:

  • Manages integrated media budget for all US media spend
  • Ensure media plans support appropriate funnel mix needed to support achieving retail and net sales plans
  • Assist Finance with ad spend reporting and analysis to clearly track and report on budget vs actuals.
  • Review, track and submit media authorizations through approval process
  • Facilitate processing of invoices from key vendors on an ongoing basis

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus
  • 5-8 years full-funnel media experience focusing on paid social, search, programmatic, connected TV and content development a must.
  • Beauty industry experience is a plus (either agency or in-house)
  • Experience with management of multi-million-dollar media budgets is a must
  • Experience with full-funnel media planning and measuring campaigns against KPIs
  • Quantitative and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of creative best practices for various key media platforms
  • Ability to influence creative development to optimize for all digital platforms
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to influence team members from various groups and present integrated plans
  • Strong work ethic with capacity to operate independently and collaboratively in teams
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple products or services concurrently under time constraints within fast-changing situations
  • Expertise in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
