Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Consumer Insights & Marketing Intelligence will play an essential role in driving the success of Shiseido Americas by bringing a richer and deeper understanding of consumer needs to reinforce customer-centric business strategies.  This role will lead consumer research initiatives and data-driven customer analyses to deliver actionable insights.  Types of research conducted include both qualitative and quantitative methodologies as well as the use of syndicated data sources.  This role will report to the Executive Director of Consumer Insights & Marketing Intelligence, working closely with Regional Brand Marketing, Americas Digital Transformation, Strategy/M&A, and several external vendor partners.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Brand Marketing and SAC teams to support their annual CIMI learning agenda objectives, enabling teams to make more informed consumer-centric decisions
  • Lead consumer research studies end-to-end. Design surveys/discussion guides, assess audience quotas and targeting, manage fielding and analyze findings.  Interpret and visualize data to tell a cohesive, compelling story to drive actionable insights and recommendations. Present findings to all levels of the organization
  • Develop proficiency in using consumer insights tools and manage working relationship with vendors including insights community platforms, agile quantitative research tools, and business intelligence sources (e.g., syndicated sales and transaction, search, customer reviews, segmentation and brand health, retailer’s consumer data)
  • Keep a pulse on beauty industry and consumer macro trends and their implications to brand strategy/consumer insights

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • 7+ years of post-graduate experience in consumer insights. Experience using syndicated data sources, customer data analytics, and conducting quantitative and qualitative research studies
  • Strategic-thinker and problem-solver with strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with strong project management capabilities
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Proactive with a self-starter mentality, strong team player and collaborative nature
  • Strong curiosity and eagerness to learn, growth-mindset
  • Agility to adapt with shifting priorities and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Preferred background in a related field of study such as Marketing, Statistics, Business Analytics; experience or interest in Retail, Fashion, Luxury, Beauty
