Manager, Global Digital Strategy

The Manager, Global Digital Strategy is responsible for developing, supporting, and executing the digital strategy for SHISEIDO Makeup. This individual will work closely with the Director of Global Digital Strategy and Social Engagement to evolve the global digital footprint to meet the needs and business objectives of the organization.

This person will champion owned digital content creation for SHISEIDO Makeup, optimize paid media assets by funnel for market execution, establish SHISEIDO Makeup digital insights and reporting and collaborate with the IMC team lead in Japan to strengthen the digital presence of SHISIEDO across the globe. The Manager will also spearhead test and learn initiatives globally with the intent of understanding market needs and cross-category opportunities to inform best-in-class future campaign creative.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • In collaboration with Director, responsible for briefing and optimizing digital strategy for new product launches inclusive of owned dotcom landing pages, e-mail newsletters and banner creation
  • Key Liaison in ensuring campaign assets are best-in-class as it relates to real-time paid media asset optimizations and competitive benchmarking
  • Ensures cohesive execution of ongoing sustain campaigns as needed Globally
  • Responsible for maintaining digital asset timelines, ongoing approvals, and final market release in collaboration with internal creative agency, J-Walk, and Creative Operations
  • Ensures timely execution of global dotcom elements, inclusive of global landing page coding updates, supporting copy elements, website QA testing and final digital release
  • Partners with Regional key stakeholders on test and learn initiatives with an emphasis on cross-category promotion to better understand segmentation opportunities
  • Implements KPIs for digitally savvy markets, establishing benchmarks and guidelines for owned digital rollouts, paid media placements and retailer lockups
  • Key partner in global digital matrix, ensuring ongoing digital growth as it relates to virtual try on, A/R capabilities and dotcom U/X updates

Working Relationships/Key Stakeholders:

  • Partner with key cross-functional teams including Global Marketing, Creative, Artistry and Global Communications to develop and enact consumer driven digital strategies and activations
  • Key Digital Liaison between Global IMC team, Agency Partners (Dentsu Isobar, Hakuhodo)and Regional Market leads, pushing forward execution of key digital campaigns against global business priorities

Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • BS/BA required, Marketing degree preferred
  • 4 -5 Years of Digital Experience
  • Track record of building Global Digital strategy with an eye for digitally native content and paid media optimizations
  • Experience working globally within a B2C focused brand or agency environment
  • Must have a good handle on current trending digital innovation and relevant industry trends
  • Proactive, self-sufficient working style – able to manage process across several teams
  • Needs to be a creative problem solver, thrive in fast paced environment, prioritize and oversee multiple projects at once
  • Strong attention to detail and works well with cross functional teams
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to communicate complex ideas and processes in a simplified manner
  • Adept in creative problem-solving, extremely resourceful and proactive
  • Digitally savvy marketer with a positive attitude and forward-looking mentality
