Business Manager, NYC Flagship

Job Summary:

The NYC Flagship Business Manager is responsible for the management and performance of Beauty Prestige Group’s business in their assigned brand and door.  He/she accountable for achieving company objectives, retail sales plans, staff, and personal productivity. Also responsible for inventory management, marketing program execution, budget/resource control and profitability.  Key Human Resource responsibilities include the selection, professional development, education and motivation of Beauty Consultant and related counter personnel.  Core counter animation, marketing and merchandising activities must be maintained to recruit new customers and sustain existing loyal clientele.  Develop and nurture a mutually productive business relationship with retail partners.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Retail Sales:

  • Develops door growth strategies and seasonal side by side promotional calendar, in conjunction with Sales & Training Executive and retail partners to deliver sales plans.
  • Consistent coaching of counter teams to assure they are meeting clientele, AUS, IPT and SPH objectives.  Reviews daily, weekly, and monthly with each associate.
  • Responsible for achieving his/her personal sales goal and clientele targets.

Recruiting, Interviewing, Hiring:

  • Maintains close communication and networks with Sales & Training Executive, Department, and retailer Human Resource Management.   Must be aware of possible candidates from outside the cosmetic arena including other departments and service businesses.  Recruits daily.
  • Fills open positions with top talent on a timely basis.  Hires candidates who will productively thrive in Shiseido America’s corporate culture.

Human Resource Development, Education:

  • Immediately upon hiring, inform Administration Department to send Personal Training Agenda package.  Instructs Beauty Consultant how to use and learn from Personal Training Agenda. 
  • Coordinates with Training Executive to assess progress and eligibility for seminar attendance. 
  • Works one on one with new and experienced Beauty Consultants on developing core skills, customer recruitment, product merchandising, and counter maintenance. 
  • Challenge counter team to grow in their positions by teaching new skills and recruiting new customers.  Recognizes achievements and assists in areas of opportunity.
  • Assess talent consistently in partnership with Sales & Training Executive and Training Executive to minimize regrettable turn and expedite necessary turn.

Inventory & Resource Management:

  • Develops and executes door, plans, monitors, and maintains sufficient inventory by stock keeping unit to support achievement of retail sales objectives.  Communicates and coordinates inventory needs with Sales & Training Executive.
  • Returns and destroy in field damages are executed consistently, correctly, and timely.
  • Manages/maximizes use of marketing and sales promotion seasonal resources such as samples, value sets, promotional sets, and collateral materials.  Evaluates retail trends to determine resource movement against sales plan.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acts as an owner of the business, focused on results.
  • Consistently role models desired behaviors with strong work ethic.
  • Maintain Company image, dress code, presentation, counter tools, and hygiene standards personally and for the entire counter team.
