Associate Manager, Core Product Development - Color (NARS)

Job Summary:

The Associate Manager of Product Development, Core Color will partner with the Senior Manager to develop innovative formulas and shade lineups within the NARS color portfolio.  A successful candidate will apply technical, organization and industry knowledge to manage the daily development of assigned projects and deliver on time launches.  The Associate Manager should build and leverage a strong network of cross functional partners and outside vendors to problem solve and deliver on-time results under the guidance of supervising manager.  The candidate has a strong passion for cosmetics, will develop a keen understanding of the NARS brand and bring a balance of commercial and creative thinking to the role.  This role is particularly focused on the Cheek category, Powermatte franchise, and reformulations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in concepting a pipeline of core launches, preparing new product concept pages, and brainstorming technology and ingredient stories
  • Focus on bringing innovation to the cheek category and Powermatte franchise while staying true to NARS brand DNA
  • Assist in building global shade baskets that meet all local trend needs
  • Assist in initiating and maintaining all assigned projects in Devex/TLM systems 
  • Collaborate with Senior Manager across all functional teams to meet all project timeline milestones – formula evaluation/approval, shade evaluation/ approval (travel on-site as needed), Marketing Bulletin, AW release, retouching of assets, and claims testing
  • Communicate with vendors on product briefs, shade direction, and assortments
  • Constant competitive brand and product review across all channels, to understand and anticipate market trends – including social listening reports – present/publish information as needed
  • Manage cost sheets with Senior Manager of all projects to support COG objectives of the category and brand    
  • Responsible for reformulating core portfolio formulas based on changing market/regulatory needs 

Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Extreme organizational skills and acute attention to detail 
  • Action Oriented: Proactive and resourceful – extremely agile and ability to seamlessly pivot directions based on business needs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) – aptitude to master additional project management systems as needed.
