Associate Specialist, Regulatory

Job Summary:

The Associate Specialist Regulatory Affairs is responsible for ensuring that products developed for Shiseido brands meet and follow all regulatory requirements necessary to conduct business globally. Work closely under the review and supervision of the Manager.  

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review formula information for global regulatory compliance, brand policy compliance, other compliance required by brand and provide assessment report in a timely manner.
  • Gather, review raw material information, and maintain documents to be up to date to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Upload formula information into Regulatory database and maintain accurate product information for product registration
  • Generate ingredient listing
  • Analyze retailer’s clean ingredient list and conduct clean compliance to meet brand’s requirement
  • Manage and support regional regulatory team with formula information, raw material information, etc.                                                                              
  • Work closely with other functions such as Safety team, formulation team, product development team, new product development team, Contract Manufacturing teams to maintain the product development timeline

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • BS or BA Chemistry or related science field
  • Minimum of 1 year in global cosmetic/OTC regulatory or similar experience
  • Experience in cosmetic/personal care, is a plus
  • Must have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and TEAMS and be able to learn and use in-house proprietary systems
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills      
  • Web and internet savvy; navigate through web to retrieve information
  • Goal-oriented, proactive, able to multi-task, strong organizational skills
  • Experience handling multiple work streams/projects simultaneously
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment
